Who is an atheist? well according to dictionary.com is a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.So am I an atheist?
Atheist is an overrated word so let's call myself a free thinker, an infidel who does not have any religious faith,who thinks that the concepts of 'Karma' and superstitions are irrelevant to the way of life and were made by people to engage other people foreseeing some advantageous prospect.Yes, I don't give alms to the beggars on the day of my exam thinking that it might just help me to clear my exam. That Karma will work and the good I did( by giving alms to the beggars) will end in a good outcome( Excelling my exams). Bullshit!! I will certainly fail in my exams no matter I help the beggars or not until and unless I study. Please!! Karma to explain better can be compared to a boomerang.Throw it in a certain angle,with a certain velocity and speed and it will return the same way. What behaviour one showcases, will the same way return in future.What a subtle comparison.
No one as of now has the very source of the emergence of these religions but almost everyone is affected by it.Its like a rumour.The source is hard to find but the final result is a disaster. It is not people's fault. Their entire life, they are fed with moralities and religions and a Supreme entity that it fathoms into them and they accept it as a reality. No one is born with such concepts.They just accept it because they only have two choices, accept it or face the society.One who rejects this contention will be considered as a weirdo and an antisocial who cannot follow the basic protocols of the society. So a child is more or less forced to accept these concepts.Or the child is pretentious of being a theist and a believer even though he might not.Everyone have eyes but they only choose what they wish to see and nothing else. If a new-born child for example is taught about such concepts,he/she has no option but to stare at oblivion and not even understand a single word of what is being taught. GOD is the only weapon parents have, to scare their kids in case they do not have any other argument. That is the best possible way parents recognize this entity.What if one day the memory of each and every person on this earth is wiped off, every book destroyed, Will the people learn to survive or learn to worship and believe?
While some people look at the sky for answers, others rely on science and logics. Superstition is nothing but the fear of the unknown or the belief in magic, illusions and miracles. God is nothing but an entity created by people to scapegoat their own failures. Religions in the Indian context is nothing but a way to secure votes on the basis of their own secular or communal beliefs.People fight with and against people for this very reason to portray their own religion superior. Why can't humans take the blame for their own achievements or failures and not give the credit of it to this so called 'entity' ? Why is this entity made the scapegoat? Because they know that an answer from this entity is not coming and it is the safest way to blame someone without being afraid of a consequence.
